Continuous Investment for Growing Industries within the STSP
Expansion of the STSP’s Ability to Attract Different Sources of Investment
As of the end of 2021, the STSP approved investments from 254 park enterprises, including 20 news ones. Among them,
four IC makers invested NT$4.36 billion, followed by six manufacturers of precision machinery with a further investment of
NT$2.395 billion.
Investment increases came from 21 park enterprises at a promising expansion of NT$232.4 billion, which was invested by
two IC leaders followed by 13 biotechnology companies to the amount of NT$4.636 billion.
Development of the World’s Most Advanced Semiconductor Manufacturing Cluster
Testing in the advanced mass production processes of TSMC’s five and three nanometer chips, as well as UMC’s continuous
investment in factory expansion have strengthened regional economic resilience for the development of the world’s most
advanced semiconductor manufacturing industrial cluster.
Merck KgaA’s Big Investment in the STSP
On December 16, 2021, Merck Group set up a large
semiconductor material production and application
R&D Center, and an equipment manufacturing
factory for electronic materials. Together, they are
expected to bring an investment amount of NT$17
billion and create 400 jobs.
