Boosting Smart Production Energy at the STSP
The STSPB started to implement the“Smart Manufacturing Industrial
Cluster Promotion” program in 2017 so as to encourage cooperation
between and among the industry, academia, and research institutions for
innovative technology development, and to boost smart manufacturing
energy of Park enterprises at the STSP. In 2017, 13 projects were
subsidized and among them, the first 3D printing facilities for medical
device manufacturing was built at the KSP with the capability to develop
this encouraged relevant enterprises to take up international market
shares in 3D printing medical devices.
Continuous Investments of IC Industrial Leaders at the STSP
In 2017, TSMC continuously invested NTD550 billion in building 12-inch
foundry, for making five nanometer manufacturing technology. It was
expected that in the next five years, 4,000 new jobs would be created.
TSMC also announced the selection of the STSP as its foundry for three
nanometer manufacturing technology. Winbond Electronics Corp. planned
to invest NTD335.0 billion. Continuous investments of IC industrial leaders
successfully attracted investments from Tokyo Electron and Taiwan Tohcello
Functional Sheet Inc. By the end of 2017, about 20 IC manufacturers
invested in the STSP.
Integration of Aerospace Resources for Development of
International Supply Chain
The STSPB integrates industrial, governmental, academic, and research
resources to implement the “STSP Aerospace Key System Technology
Upgrading Promotion” program. Additionally, resource integration assists Park
enterprises to recruit talent to tackle the challenges of international aerospace
industry and to gain aerospace orders. In 2017, 16 Park enterprises received
subsidies.
Well-known STSP Medical Devices Made in Taiwan
On March 11 and 12, the STSPB brought Park dental suppliers to participate

in the “3 Membership Meeting for the 2 Conference of the ROC Kaohsiung
Dental Association and Academic Seminars” organized by the Kaohsiung
Dental Association.
At the “MIT STSP Medical Devices Exhibition Area” high quality dental supplies
were showcased. At the meeting, scholars and experts were invited for
seminars, and products from the domestic dental field were promoted. Park
enterprises were engaged in interdisciplinary learning together with dentists
to improve the capabilities and service quality of the medical industry for
further clinical applications.
