Xingang Temple, Combining Art, Culture, and Religion
The first floor of the Xingang Temple is a local culture center, the second floor is a temple, where the chief god is General Zhengang. After
th
completing construction on September 29 , 2006,
Xingang Temple became the religious center for the Tree
Valley Park and surrounding area.
The local cultural center combines technology and
cultural spatial design, and is separated into a regular
exhibition area and a special exhibition area. The regular
exhibition area contains cultural and historical information
on the Siraya aborigines. The special exhibition area
held 6 exhibitions in 2016 where they invited artists to
display their work and collections, including: oil paintings,
pottery, ceramics, stone carvings, artisanal glass, prints,
calligraphy, and water colors, attracting people from all
over to come and admire, exchange and critique the ▌Four seasons-Wanderlust, a western panting by Peng Qiongrong displayed at the opening

The 2016 KSP Art Festival
The theme for the 2016 KSP Art Festival was the STSP Dream Factory. This year, ducks were the image for the park, using ducklings as
spokespeople for a promotional video. The Ming Hwa Yuan Arts and Cultural Group was invited for a large scale performance--the Wind Spirit
Babies performed, attracting 2,000 audience members. Additionally, guided tours showing public art received around 900 visitors from schools
and other groups. In addition, this year 3 lecturers from different fields were invited to lead the public in creating their own art, including meltable
plastic paintings; the group project, “The STSP kaleidoscope”, and the group airplane piece titled “Move, the STSP”, both used materials
provided by AU Optronics. “ The STSP Color Room”, was created using stainless steel cables from Kuang Tai metals, and woven grass. In total,
these events attracted around 600 people.
